LINDA SMITH (nee FUNK) Linda, born September 11, 1942, was reunited with her husband Bruce Smith on May 18, 2011. She will be remembered by her children Garry (Daphne), Cheryl (Steve), Bradley (Genna), Colleen (Darren) and Melanie (Rick), grandchildren Douglas (Chelsea), Corey, Erik (Karlee), Crystal, Cherisse, Alysha (Travis), Kyle, Kevin and Ashtyn, along with great-grandchildren Nicco, Deante, Ryan, Dominik and Autumn-Lee. Linda will also be missed by her brother Ernie (Sandy), sisters-in-law Tina and Carol, and brothers-in-law Denis (Linda) and Ted (Joan). She was predeceased by her granddaughter Shaylene Michelle in 1988, her brother Bill in 2004 and her loving husband Bruce in 2009. Linda was employed with the Salvation Army for many years and worked with countless people in need, as well as The Paddle Wheel, The Forks Bakery, City Bread, Masson Appliance and many others. After retirement, Linda enjoyed spending time with her husband Bruce prior to his passing. Their days were filled with gardening, walking their dog Pepper, eating at Skinners, Nick's Inn, G'news, and making their regular pit stop at Glen Eden to visit their peanut Shaylene. Mom went to live with her daughter Colleen, in Prawda, MB and she resided there until May 18. Spending time in the country, bird-watching and insisting that Colleen fired up the BBQ daily, always made her smile. Mom looked forward to having her respite workers spend Tuesdays, Thursdays and every second Saturday with her. The family would like to thank her respite workers, Janet McCullan and Jeanette Feildberg and many others for providing Mom with friendship and understanding. We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Kuegle and the Palliative Team with the North Eastman Health Association. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. Viewing one-half hour prior to service. Interment will take place May 25 at 12:00 noon at Glen Eden Memorial Garden, Main Street. Donations in Linda's memory may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada or the North Eastman Health Association.
